I have windows 7 pro 64 BIT with windows media player 12.

When I install media Go with quicktime or Itunes with quicktime it stops working. I can not open any media files with either quicktime or media player, it seems those two programs can not exist next to each other.

I had to uninstall media go and Itunes and turn off windows mdia player off and back on to solve the issue. However I like to install Itunes so can anybody help me??

Does anybody have the solution or knows what the problem is??

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hello jorsan, Welcome to the Forums!
Not sure quite what's happening- What happens when you try to open a media file?
Try going to Control Panel>Default Programs and see what you can do.

Quicktime is hopeless and interferes with other apps.

Try Quicktime Alternative or Quicktime Alt Lite. Both work with I-Tunes.

Free-Codecs.com : Download K-Lite Codec Pack 5.4.4 FULL, K-Lite Codec Pack 5.4.4 STANDARD, K-Lite Codec Pack 5.4.4 BASIC : K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools

Look in the left column.

If you want to use them, be sure to uninstall Quicktime first. You may even have to uninstall I-tunes. If you uninstall and then reinstall I-tunes, be sure to uninstall Quicktime from the control panel. Then install QT alt or QT alt lite.

If Realtime is causing you problems, you can also find a Realtime Alt.

the media just crashes, I uninstalled everything and am not sure if I want to install this again. I am afraid media player might stop working

I spent about a hour repairing media player.:(

If it stops working, you can always repair it. I do agree Windows 7 Forums - View Profile: ignatzatsonic, but if you want to use Quicktime, play around with it. Once you can clearly link crashes to something, you are in a good position. Good luck!
