Hello all!!
so sorry about this post but i have google and searched and found nothing for this problem. I have a vizio all in one, bought several years ago, with signature series windows. that simply means no bloatware was attached with windows. the computer has been great thus far, but a wierd thing happened, i have kept win 7 with norton and no problems, we had a storm and computer was unplugged, when i started it my password wouldnt work (same password for 10 years) i went into repair and found the options were win 10 options. None of my windows 7 options were there. My sign in is still in win 7 screen but repair options in win 10. I lost my master boot and cannot get into any kind of repair, basically win 10 says there is no OS. i can get into cmd mode and tried a few tricks unsuccessfully, and in cmd mode my drive letter is x instead of c, i went ahead and checked for bad sectors and such all came back good.
Now the problem is my win 7 OS is built into the computer itself, i tried win 10 when it first came out but it was incompatible with things like my printer, so i used my repair and restored win 7 from the computer itself not the revert back feature, so my win 7 options were present. since then this computer has run almost daily, i keep it clean with very few programs installed, i do run ms updates and update drivers etc.
comp specs
vizio 27 all in one
i7 processor
nvidia graphics
8g ram
ssd with win 7 OS
1t hdd
i have no repair disc( not sure if it would work) so i intend to pull the hard drive and place it in an enclosure and get my files, reformatt the hard drive from my old laptop. and then place it back into the computer and see if it will bring back my win 7 options from my ssd. if anyone has any advice about this i would greatly appreciate it.
not sure how the win 10 options got onto the computer? ms updates? driver updates? maybe someone will know the answer
thanks so much for your understanding
