I fixed up an old HP laptop that I bought (which had Vista on it) downloaded WIN 7 Pro, bought a product key off of eBay in December and now... GASP... Microsoft has blocked the key.

The key says it is retail but the 2nd group of numbers in the product ID is 223 which I suspect would make it a volume license key. I'll get my money back but that won't solve the problem.

I would appreciate any suggestions. I really don't want to re-burn this laptop again.

Hi Wjell,

223 is part of the MSDN range, likely a rip-off

Can you run this tool. Copy/paste the output, i'll give it a good lookover

Unfortunately buying off Ebay is more of a miss than a hit.
