Hi guys,

I'm having this weird issue with TVersity... I know, before the rest of you starts bagging it and suggesting PS3 media server, I've tried that and well, gave me nothing but grieve... tried tversity and so far had been streaming seamlessly without any lag.

Ok, my problem is that I installed 7 home premium, installed tversity. Set it all up, set in rules for media server and tversity in windows firewall, detected ps3 and started streaming. Took a few go like rebooting my pc, turning on ps3 before I start tversity.

Now the deal is that I have to restart my pc everytime if I start my ps3 later. It will not auto detect the ps3. Sometimes, when it is detected initially, I went to spend a couple of hrs on gaming, return to it and my ps3 is not detecting tversity. Check my pc, shows ps3 is connected. Reboot pc, streaming is fine again...

I thought tversity will auto detect and I don't even need to start the program as it is installed in as services. Will need to verify if I can see it in windows services later.

Any ideas? Oh, how do I disable media sharing for wmp12? I used that initially and now got no idea how to switch it off.

Cheers

Are you running your network in a dynamic or static IP setup? If static, get into your router's settings and open up that port that you specify in TVersity's settings.

I know what you said in your initial paragraph there, but I have used both and if you can figure out what the issue is in your situation, I would CERTAINLY pick PS3 Media Server over TVersity.

I had a little bit of a hard time getting the network aspect of the whole thing setup but once it was done, it was a vast improvement over using TVersity.

Good Luck!

TVersity sucks. There are better programs out there.

I'm on dynamic IP on my network... I'll try getting into the router settings and see if that helps... as for ps3 media server, I'll have another go if this work... my initial experience with it was terrible... streaming is terrible, constant stuttering even when I have full codec, then it will just dropped off without reason. If I decided to rewind video playback on ps3, it will crash the entire thing and stop working... at least now I have no issues with tversity...

As for fatedquest.... I respect your opinion, however, it does work for me... I am all out for suggestions and if you know any better programs out there, please feel free to suggest...
