When I shut down PC I close all open programs and then shut down . When I turn on again all the programs I turned off are re opening before I can use my PC. Where do I find the setting to prevent this every time I turn on my PC?

Are you talking about the Startup?

If so, then, click Start > in the search box type msconfig > press Enter > click the Startup tab and Uncheck what you don't want included at Startup.

Hey Paul. It did not work. All are web sites from weeks ago. They just won't go away. Any more ideas?

Have you tried clearing the Temporary Internet Files and Cache?
You could use something like CCleaner [FREE], but uncheck ALL the Registry part.
You could also run Disk Cleanup.

Hey Tripper2, which browser are you using? All browsers have a settings/options panel somewherer where you can configure the startup with last session / homepage or start page. It might be that your current settings are setup with last session enabled, and that is why you see the web pages appear again, on startup.

Are you talking about re opening programs or re opening browser pages?

If you're talking about re opening programs it seems more that you're putting the computer to hibernate rather then shutting down.
