I have a newly installed Win 7 and it is using too much memory in rest and that causes problems when I play games and stuff. I just upgraded from XP and I am very disappointed. Anybody can help, I appreciate it a lot.
I am attaching some screen shots

You have 1282 MB going to hardware reserved, not much you can do about that.

See if the bios will let you change anything.

Are you using a dedicated video card ?

How much memory does the motherboard support, add more ram if possible.

I say again AddRAM :D

I have 4GB, 32 bit can use about 3GB, rest will be hardware reserved, not much you can do about that. Adding more memory on a 32 bit system will not help, as it cannot use more that 3GB
Yes, I am using Nvidia GT220, not on MB

I have a similar system, memory utilization is about 30%, here more than 80% is used

Looks like you`re stuck, no gaming on that pc then.

If the MB will support more memory then you can try 64 bit, but there`s no guarantee it will help.

What I cant understand is, how come a similar system has 30% CPU utilization

You can`t compare a similar system, it would have to be exactly the same.

First thing I see is you are running MSSE, Avast and MBAM at the same time. Also you've got a lot of random background processes for iTunes, Screen Hunter? Drive sync, GeForce Experience, download manager and similar programs. It all adds up. Also run as administrator with sysinternals process explorer to show all info. BTW, why 32 bit Win 7?

32-bit Win7 Ultimate? Might as well use Home Premium. :)

I agree; you have a ton of unnecessary "background noise". Check your startup apps and clean that out!
