We've been having wireless connection problems for several months now, and after replacing the router and the modem, someone just suggested that something similar happens when a computer running win7 logs into the network.

We have a variety of computers and operating systems, but without fail, when the win7 laptop powers up and goes online, the connection keeps dropping (even for the computer in the same room as the router with 100% signal). Our cable folk don't see a problem on their side (hence the new router & modem).

Does anyone have any information on this or how to fix it?
THANKS!!

I will bet you are running "homegroup" for networking. Homegroup uses IPv6 and is designed for win 7 only networks. Homegroup has various issues especially on older hardware.

You can test to see if that is the problem by creating a new network connection using "workgroup" instead. If it works you can kill IPv6 and homegroup
