Ok this morning I started up my computer and at the login screen the only option I had available to use to login was (Other User)? I normally have (my login) and (guest login). I'm using WIN7 64BIT it's a custom built computer I put together in 2011. I'm using three HD, OS 256GB SSD, FLTSIM 256 SSD, Storage 1TB. I last used the computer last night around 7:30pm and I had no issues. I've restarted three times but to no avial. Is there a fix for this??

Hello bankheadd, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if you may be able to do a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you had this issue to hopefully undo and fix it. :)

If System Restore doesn't help then make sure you have the correct hard drive or SSD booting first in BIOS. If necessary unplug the other drives to troubleshoot.

Did you say that it signed you into a temporary User account? If so next enable Built-in Administrator - Enable from WinRE - Windows 7 Forums to create a new Admin User account, see if it functions correctly and will run all of your programs. If so copy your files over and eventually delete the old account, hide again the Built-in Admin account.

To try to repair the failing account, you can also disinfect and run then SFC from boot as provided in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start

Ok, I can't log-on to my computer, so how will I download those files? Also I just checked in the bios and I still have the correct ssd drive selected as the boost drv with my OS on it.

Not sure it signed me in, I'm just presented with (OTHER USER) which I can't log-in to?

I also tried starting in SAFE MODE and START in last known good condition. No luck I get the same screen?

You should be able to click on Cancel or press the ESC key to get out of diagnostic state.

Are you able to boot into the Win7 disk System Recovery Options using Option Two to access the
Command Line to enable Built-in Administrator - Enable from WinRE - Windows 7 Forums as shown in Option Two (for 64 bit)?

If so once you access Regedit you can first try making the changes in Logon Screen - Fix Showing Only "Other User" and Last Logged On User to see if it remedies the problem with a reboot.

If not go ahead and enable Built-in Admin to see if it reboots into the hidden Admin account.

If so run a full scan with Malwarebytes followed by SFC /SCANNOW Command. If this doesn't fix your account so it's usable then create a new Admin User Account - Create to see how it works, whether your programs all run from it and if so move your files over to it and eventually delete the old account.

If not run an AV boot disk to disinfect and then SFC from these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start

Click on this blue link for System Recovery Options to follow Option Two to get to the Win7 disk Command Line, then click on this blue link for Built-in Administrator - Enable from WinRE and follow Method Two for 64 bit.

If you're able to access regedit as shown then you can first try making the changes in this blue link for Logon Screen - Fix Showing Only "Other User" and Last Logged On User. After completing these, reboot to see if it logs in normally. If not enable the Built-in Administrator to see if it will start.

I gave you the steps on what to do next in my last post above.
