Today I went to change my screen picture via personalisation. I usually change the photo every few weeks.
When I tried to get to the "Pictures Library" which contain all my pictures folders it showed up as "This Folder is empty". It usually shows all my folders so I can go through them to get to any specific folder to change a photo.

I dont know why its happened.I tried to do a system restore but that didnt do it.
It usually works when I do this by right click screen, click on personalize, click on desktop background, click on drop down menu for picture location, then Pictures Library.

Is there are reset I need to do?

Thanks.

Thanks ethel. I appreciate your help.I followed your instructions.

After all that it didnt get everything back. When I change the desktop background the Pictures Library is still missing as per my screen photo. When I click on My Pictures it only brings up 14 photos, all the other folders and photos arent there.

It shows these in the drop down menu:

after you do this go to

Start orb

I just did both. The previous reply advice didnt change anything. The advice here,I did find all my photos there as well as they are still in windows explorer too.I'm at a loss to explain why it wont work.It was working at least 4 days ago. I did a system restore first before I first posted. That didnt help. I've been trying to find tutorials for this.Doesnt seem to be any.
Thank you for your help.

Hello Denv12, If you now have all your photos the only other thing I can think of to try is right clicking

on your picture files, and click restore previous versions, and see if there is a version before this happened. :D

Hi denv12, I have remembered a couple of other things to try. Control Panel, Ease of Access, Optimize

visual display, ensure that remove background images is unchecked. Another one some people have tried

with your problem is right clicking on a photo, and set it as desktop background, and then they looked

under Appearance and Personalization and their photos were there. :D

Hi,
Click Start and click on your user name listed near the top of the list,
Open the folder on the main menu to where your images are at
Post a full screen screen shot like you did with in the original question.

But yes drill down through C/ users/ your user name/ and where exactly the images are located when you Browse for the images if you need too in personalization.

Thanks for the suggestion.

My photos are there. When I go into personalize I have to go to desktop background, drop down menu to click on pictures library...where folder is empty.Click on browse,go to libraries, pictures,my pictures then to any photo folder.I can choose a photo that way. If I click on public folder it shows sample pictures.I went back one step and tried my pictures folder and am able to change photo.I'm happy with that.

Thank you to everyone for youe help.Greatly appreciated.Of all problems I needed help,it had to be this one.
