hello all, i'm new to the forums here because i'm having a baffling problem i just can't seem to fix. i recently was using Windows 7 beta and about 2 days ago i switched over and did a clean install of Win7RC. after about a day or 2 of no problems all of a sudden i have an "!" over my network connection and i can't get on the net. I cant even access my router when typing in the IP in the address bar. im currently on my laptop and its working fine. here's what i have done so far.
1. tried uninstalling some programs that i installed after i got win7rc, un installed avira, also disabled windows defender and unplugged my connection and plugged it back in, still no go.
2. restarted my computer,, after doint this the connection was fine, but i went to work and came back and it was having the same trouble again. i just restarted my computer now and it's working fine but im sure it will revert in a few short hours. i cant explain why.
3. i looked for this "bonjour" program people are talking about but couldnt find it, not even too sure where to look, or what it is.
i have a netgear router im using brighthouse.
i went to the cmd and typed in ipconfig /all not sure if this will be any use but
windows IP configuration
IP routing enabled..... no
Wins proxy enabled.....no
node type ... hybrid
theres alot more there, one says ethernet adapter local area connection:
i assume thats what is important here's an interesting note. at one point it says,
Lease Obtained..........." Tuesday, june 23, 2009
Lease expires............: wednesday, june 24, 2009
not sure what this means.
autoconfiguration is enabled
it shows 3 tunnel adapter sections
any help would be appreciated
oh and also, under properties of local area connection, internet protocol v6 and v4 are checked and both are set to obtain address automatically
