Solved Win7 Ultimate: Win7 Ultimate repair from DVD

I caught malware omiga-search which I still couldn't remove neither with malwarebytes not ccleaner nor manually. While trying to remove it manually I deleted some important win 7 files and now my desktop doesn't load and the windows-key doesn't work.
So I tried the startup-repair but it doesn't work either, I guess I have a little harddisk-problem, too.
When I try to boot from DVD the same happens as when I try startup repair from harddisk: after loading windows files, the screen freezes, showing the words Starting Windows. Not even the 4 colored balls appear.
I wonder what I must do to reinstall Windows from DVD, as it always automatically loads the windows files (and then freezes) and shows no other options, like reinstalling.

Thank you! I would like to open start menu and run chkdsk, but my desktop is black and the windows key doesn't work. The only thing that works is the ctl-alt-del combination. Any idea how I can open the start menu? Any F keys don't work either.

Try, Windows key and "R". This will open the Run dialog.

Can't get it started at all right now. Guess I better go to a shop.

Boot the DVD and follow the Repair my computer link to get to a Command Prompt. Run chkdsk from there.

I could boot it from DVD this morning and ran chkdsk, alas, to no avail.
It said the boot manager is damaged and can't be repaired. Gonna get a new harddisk on Monday.
At least I'll get rid of that bloody Omiga malware easily that way.

If you can boot into safe mode try:
Remove Omiga Plus virus (Removal Guide)

Then you might need to repair any system files

Attach the entire CBS.log to a post.

Alas too late, meanwhile I had followed some other instructions and accidently formatted not only the partition I intended to but the whole disk. Seems my windows 7 dvd is not quite alright anymore either it stops in the middle of the new setup.
So I gotta buy everything new.

I haven't read from the beginning, but if you have a win7 license already, you don't need to buy it again.

Oh really? I once tried to install my xp on both my desktop and laptop but on the laptop it said xp was already activated or something like that. So I thought that I have to buy a new windows for every different machine.
Would be great if I was wrong.

You are only supposed to have it on one machine at a time.

You can put it on a different machine if the original is no longer working. You should have a sticker with the product key on. Any probs with activation, ring MS and tell them you only have it one machine.
