Win7 unable to start-Startup repair fails-Problem signature 07 BadDisk

to copy stuff:

Code:
xcopy /C/H/R/S/Y d:\ p:\destfolder

/C = Continues copying even if errors occur
/H = Copies hidden and system files also
/R = Overwrites read-only files
/S = Copies directories and subdirectories
/Y = Overwrites existing files without asking

D is the source drive letter. The win7 drive letter is D is your recovery environment. In my example the stuff is xcopy'ed to p:\destfolder . Replace with correct drive letter and foldername.

Hello Kaktusoft

Please find some screen shots from sea tools. Mine is a Hitachi Harddisk so I dont think seatools can repair

At this point I have given up hope of getting this to work. I am ok to lose the data . What steps should I follow for reinstalling windows 7. Its just that I Work from home often and I need my system up and running.

Hello Kaktusoft,

Having looked at my results from seatools is there anything more I can try to salvage?

Before I order for a new harddisk is it not worth to try and formatting the existing one and try reinstalling on the same?

Samsung did not provide me with any disks, so I will have to make my own? Is there a good guide I can follow?

With Regards
Avisesh.

Disk has hardware faults! Warranty? Buy a new disk or call them because of warranty.
After that http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

Hello Kaktusoft,

I was able to get my hands on a new harddisk, I installed the windows using a bootable flash drive I created by following instructions on Seven forums. I now have a weird issue. My system doesnt start without the bootable flash drive in the USB port. It tries to start but before windows can begin it shuts down and tries to start again and it goes on in a loop.

If I put the USB in the drive but dont press any key when it ask "press any key to boot from USB" my system starts up. After that if I remove the bootable USB, the system functions well. Dont know what is wrong. In the boot options priority, my harddisk is selected as number 1.

Any assistance will be much appreciated.

With Regards,

Avisesh.

Hello Kaktusoft,

Nothing happens when I try to boot normally, the set up and recovery options page comes up and he system shuts down and tries to restart again.

I noticed that my C drive is not active when I opened my disk management. I made it active and tried to restart without USB, this time I got an error saying Boot Mgr is missing, press ctrl+alt+del to restart.

I suspect something went wrong with my installation. Maybe because my laptop already had an SSD drive of 24 GB and the System Partition of 100MB seems to have been created from there.

Attaching my Disk Management screen shot.

WIth Regards,
Avisesh.

Install easybcd and move the bootmenu and bootmanager to C.

Post results.

Hello Kaktusoft,

On installing EasyBCD and following the instructions my system is able to boot up with out the USB flash drive. I cannot thanks you enough for all the help you have patiently provided so far.

One glitch am facing right now is that whenever I first start up my system my Wireless Router crashes. After it starts again it seems to work fine. Is this a known issue related to Windows 7 or is it my system. My wife's system is also on WIndows 7 and that appears to work fine. So was wondering.

This time I want to do things right. Are there best practices which I can follow to maintain my laptop in good condition and also I will make sure do take a backup this time.

Thanks once again.

With Regards,
Avisesh.

Post screenshot of disk management again please. (no usb flash drive attached).
No other device can crash your Wireless Router!! Unless the wireless router is buggy and win7 send a lot of shit packets to it. Please confirm the wireless router is really crashing after you boot up your machine (be sure it's running fine [check from another machine] before and crashes)
