win7 x64 installation on win7 x86

alright just a quick question I have windows 7 x86 currently and might try to install x64 will I have to boot the CD to install or will I have to install another OS like XP first and then install windows 7 x64 >?

Just boot from CD. But it has to be a clean install. Not upgrade.

As there is no upgrade path at all from a 32-bit install to a 64-bit install it will have to be a clean install all the way, have a look at these 2 tutorials at the links below.
