Solved Window system slow when Word open

Hi,

I have a new computer, (500GB hard drive; 6GB memory) and it seems that whenever I have a microsoft word document open the windows system starts to run really slowly!! When I am actually in the word programs (or internet etc) it works fine, but switching between programs, getting files up, opening task manager, viewing snapshots in the tool bar etc is extremely slow to respond!

I used my Microsoft office CD and repaired office, but it hasnt helped.

Win 7 Prof 64 bit slow when Word open

I have the same problem. When Word 2003 or 2007 is open the system slows down. Especially drag and drop operations on explorer (even if Word is minimized and has no open documents).

On the task manager, word does not take up a lot of memory under the processes, but things still slow down. I have the latest graphic card drivers. Win 7 professional x64 bit. Any ideas?

SOLVED: Windows 7 slow when MS Word is Open

It was Endnote. I updated Endnote to the latest version and things now appear fine.

It was a strange problem, with choppy drag and drop movement whenever word was opened (even it was just in the background).
