Hi,

I Just installed Windows 7 64-bit OEM version on my new PC I just built and I seem to be having problems with programs randomly freezing. For example installing the printer drivers/application software for my Epson printer and also with games freezing while installing (I had wondered if it was an issue relating to incompatibility of 32-bit games on 64-bit system, but I have only had one warning dialog from an old win95 game)

The thing that worries me most is trying to access CDs/DVDs as it seems to hang without displaying anything of the discs contents.

I didn't have this problem with the RC, so I'm a little worried.

Some things you could try

Boot in safe mode see if prob still exists

In msconfig disable all under startup tab and in services tick hide all MS services then uncheck whats left, this will show if its third party software causing your problem

Run system file check to verify integrity
Start>cmd.exe>right click run as admin>type sfc /scannow

Hope this helps
