I believe by default, Windows Live Hotmail is designed for security, and will ask you to sign in every time, and to manually retype your login information.

Hotmail sign in automatically would obviously be less safe, and if available should only be used from your home computer, or a laptop that only you access

Remember Google is your friend - do a search.

I created a shortcut Hotmail/Windows Live Mail icon in my System Tray (Notification Area) that takes me directly to my Inbox page, thereby bypassing the necessity of signing in. And on the occasion when it, instead, takes me to the Sign In page, all I have to do is to click on the Sign In box --- I don't have to fill in any information -- it's already there. I think that's about the best you can do with the new Windows Live Mail.

FWIW, whenever I go to the webpages "live.com" or "hotmail.com" the page comes up showning me already logged in. Perhaps you could try deleting your cookies and the next time you login check the "remember" option for both the login name and the password. If that doesn't work you could try resetting IE (Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset) and include the option to delete personal settings. Once again when you log in look for both options (name and password) to save or remember.

Problems - Frustrating

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate Update thinking it would be much better than Vista but I’m having problems. My computer skills a limited and I don’t know much about and OS and how they work so if have an ideas or instruction please be specific step by steps would be great. The hard drive is partitioned and if I go the XP side everything works just fine. What am I doing wrong???????????????

1. Each time I want it get into my email account (Hotmail) I have to sign in. I check the “remember me” boxes but it still asks me to sign in.
2. When I open an email and it had an attachment to download it will not download it.
3. If I open a web sight that has a map, (i.e. a real estate sight) the map will not open.
4. Windows 7 seems much slower than Vista.

Works for me as it does ron. Anything live shows already logged in.

See if this works.....

**First make sure you are logged out. ["sign out" link in the top right corner of the screen]

**Sign In in to your web browser's address bar and hit Enter to go to the sign in screen and login .

** Check both "Remember me" and "Remember my password", and click on the "Sign in" button.

Navigate to your inbox, or the part of your Windows Live Hotmail account you typically go to after you have signed in. Once that page has loaded, either bookmark it (add it to your Favorites), or set it as your homepage.

** By checking the two login options, Hotmail should automatically remember you and sign in to your account; by making your inbox (or other folder / screen you chose to bookmark), you will not only login automatically, but the page you came to look for should automatically load for you!
