i have researched this for hours and have not come up with any good results, i have an ati mobility radeon hd5650 graphics card with windows 7 and when i play some pc games two of them being star wars kotor 1 and 2 i get these black bars on the sides of the screen which didnt happen with windows vista.. ive tried going into the ccc control panel and changing the displays to "fullscreen" and ive changed my laptops native resolution (which is 1920 x 1080) and so far no success whatsoever... also i changed the resolution of the game from the game and 1280 x 1024 is the largest which has a little window inside my screen with the game in it, btw im playing on an acer aspire 8942g with 18.4" screen. any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Are you trying to run the game at 1920 x1080?

If you are, that's not going to work since the resolutions you posted are the only resolutions the game supports. Since your screen resolution (1920 x1080) is greater than the games highest resolution, the game will be "boxed".

You could try lowering your screen's resolution to match the game. Or... you could try and hack to games .ini file to include higher resolutions, but that will require a bit of research on your part.

Good luck.

What game is it by the way???
