OK, but the computer boots properly once its restarted. The problem occurs only if the computer is turned off for a long time. Will post the results in several hours. One question, what about those drivers which are missing in yellow boxes ?

Yes you need to disable that as well... Of which.. One of them looks like remanent of malware infection.... .. I would suggest you do av scan and mbam scan one this issue is resolved

  1. Download Process Monitor. Unzip the file and open Procmon.exe with administrative privileges:
  2. Stop Process Monitor from logging all the current events by clicking on “File/Capture Events.” Now go to “Options,” where you will find the crucial entry: “Enable Boot Logging.” Enable it, click on “Generate profiling events” and click “OK.” and close Process monitor
  3. Now reboot your PC. After the startup process is done completely, launch Process Monitor again and click on “Yes” once you see the message:
  4. Save the boot log where ever you want (on your desktop, for example). Process Monitor now generates a huge list of basically each and every boot event.
  5. Upload the bootlog.pml file... Since this is going to be a big file.... Zip the files and upload it dropbox or skydrive and post a link here

The psu was from my friends computer. I just took it for testing. I am testing everything right now, should I also test the CPU ? The weird thing is that ubuntu boots fine
What wattage PSU is it and what is the amp output on the +12V? There should be a label on it.

Sorry David

Been busy lately...

Ok based on the process monitor readings ... the highest amount of time after userinit.exe process is run is taken by two process as shown in the pic

Please remove or disable Deamon tools.. as well as go to service and disable Windows Media Player Network sharing service.

Once done restart and let me know.

one question

You did mention in your initial post that you have same issue with Windows 8 , windows 7 x32 and x64 .... Does this happen right after a clean boot or does it happen after you install all the drivers and software ??

IMO it is the deadly hardware trio. a bad PSU. CPU or motherboard since the issue persists across different platforms and new installs. We never got any useful PSU info.

About the PSU, I cant give you any information because there is a sticker, and if I remove that sticker the warranty will be void. Yes, the problem is right after I install the drivers. I think the problem is the nvidia driver. On ubuntu it boots without any problems.

In that case could you roll back to the original driver for Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 and make sure you don't install any associated control center .... just the drivers

Also, you may want to look around your C drive. Some Linux distros for some reason like to install their updates and drivers there. I have no idea why, it happened to me. I ended up with a clean install and no Linux and the problem was solved.

Yes I rolled back to the original driver, still no hope. The problem started right after I installed the version 301 of the nvidia drivers. On C drive, there are no files from Linux
