I ran a system file check and it came back all okay, so I started verifier and everytime it booted, it would BSOD before Windows would even finish booting. I attached the 3 minidumps that generated before I killed verifier. Please let me know if I can do anything else to help narrow it down.

By the way, I'm going on vacation for the next week so I may not get a chance to work on fixing this issue until then.

Ok Peter,
we have a pretty straight reasons for BSODs now.
2 things were blamed from the minidump files. First of all was your Razer Lachesis Mouse driver, and second was your Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller (NDIS6.20)
Please download and install fresh copy of them (remove all trace of old drivers from device manager before installing new update).

I couldn't see much from the minidump this time, they dont blame any specific drivers. However, there is an exception code in the minidump that suggest this might be memory corruption. I would download third party called memtest86, burn it to CD and let it run for at least 6,7 passes

Back from the vacation. It's good to be home .

I ran Memtest and let it go for 6 passes without any trouble. I usually keep msconfig to allow only the processes/programs I need for daily use. Lately my mouse has been acting a little funny and I don't know if it's because of all the reinstallation of drivers or if it is on the way out.

Any suggestions on hardware I can try to replace? I'm thinking a new mouse and/or graphics card.

Please turn off driver verifier for now and see if BSODs has gone, I also want to give u a quote:

- The purpose of testing all 3rd party drivers is to see if they are the problem. Most BSOD's are caused by issues with 3rd party drivers - so that's why we test them.
- If there are no BSOD's within 36 hours (my estimate), then it's most likely that you either have a Windows problem or a hardware problem. To rule out Windows drivers - run Driver Verifier on all Windows (aka Microsoft) drivers. If still no errors, then try a clean install without any extra programs (but all updates).
- If you're testing 3rd party drivers and you get a Driver Verifier BSOD that mentions Windows drivers - then (again) it's most likely a hardware issue or a Windows issue.

I bought a new mouse as this Razer Lachesis has been acting up, and I'm planning on getting an ATI Radeon 5850 when they're on sale next, so I'm hoping that might help take care of things. Regardless, I just got another BSOD yesterday while playing a game and using Windows Media Center Extender on Xbox 360.

Are you able to tell what was the cause of this one? I'll continue to try to test the drivers, but this one just crept up on me.

Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

What third party Antivirus software are you using?
Hardware was blamed in the dmp with cdd.dll, which is a canonical display driver, but probably it's not the cause
0x50 bugchecks can be extremely difficult to solve as hardware issues generally come into play. Do you overclock anything?

However, I've given you something to try, please follow it. You've said run memtestx86 for at least 6,7 passes right, I need u to use memtestx86 in case u use different one.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials, and always keep it up to date. I don't overclock anything, but I do have to manually set the my RAM to be detected at 1066, instead of the 800 the motherboard seems to think they are, but I've read that's a flaw in the motherboard (Asus M4A78-E).

I have run memtestx86 multiple times and let it run for 6+ passes and it didn't detect anything. I can try to let it run longer, but I don't think it's my RAM.

I'll run the video stress test and let you know what I find.

I ran FurMark for a while and let it get up to 94C before I stopped it. I'm not sure how hot my graphics card can get, but should I let it run for longer?

I've attached the screenshot. The dip in the middle is when I turned off the graphics to cool it down for a tick.

You might want to reconsider running your memory at 1066Mhz. Others with your board have reported stablity problems when attempting to run the memory at 1066Mhz. Example of this in the link below. The stable settings for you should be 800Mhz with 4,4,4,12 timings 2.0v and 2T, although your memory might have different timings and voltages.

Sometimes it's required that you overclock the CPU in order to use a more stable divider for 1066Mhz memory speed.

I just wanted to post a quick followup, but it looks like setting the RAM to default speeds seems to have fixed the problem. The funny thing is that the RAM and m-board are both specced to run at 1066Mhz, but I blame this Asus m-board for causing the problems and detecting it at slower speeds. I've had nothing but problems with Asus in the past, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

I really wanted to thank you all again for your help! Any recommendations for a good Win7 x64 compatible AM3 motherboard with cross-fire capabilities? I prefer onboard sound and network card, but I don't need onboard video.
