I've been having huge issues on this PC with stability and BSOD issues, a new build with windows 7 64 bit and i've probably had around 6 bsod's and various program crashes in the 3-4 days i've used it. I'll upload dmp files but it seems firefox is crashing now everytime i attempt to manage attachments.

Windows 7 64 bit
Oem
System age: Around one week,
Age of Os Installation: 3-4 days

System Info:
Cpu: i7 950 Stock
Motherboard: Gigabyte Ga-x58a-ud3r
Ram: Corsair Dominator Gt, seemingly underclocked to 1066mhz atm
VPU: Msi Gtx 460 in Sli
PSU: 850 watt Seasonic ss-850ht

I am on a laptop at the moment, i am having difficulty getting the system in question to run, even on safe mode. Once i can get it to run i will post the other info.

Alright, somehow reseating the ram gave my pc enough life to test.

New bug report info on 4th post, and it seems the reseating ram fix is just a coincidence.

It seems that nearly all of the crashes are because of system service exception or critical object termination, and nearly all these errors occur when cold-booting the pc.

You did just right. Thanks much. I looked at your six most recent dumps. They all indicate memory corruption. Memory corruption can be cause by drivers, incompatible hardware and software, bad RAM, bad motherboard, etc. You will hve to troubleshoot to determine the cause.

In your dumps, two unloaded modules caught my eye. Unloaded modules are modules involved in the crash, but not necessarily the cause of the crash.
des2svr.exe - part of Gigabyte's Energy Saver program. Program Files\GIGABYTE\EnergySaver2\des2svr.exe. Uninstall Gigabyte's Easy Saver program, as it is known to cause BSODs.

RTCore64.sys - RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner (known issues w/Win7), RivaTuner. Uninstall this program. It is not compatible with Win 7
Out of date drivers can and do cause memory corruption and BSOD's. I find the following out of date drivers loading on your system. Those in red font are quite obsolete. Update or eliminate these drivers.
athrxu6.sys Wed Jul 04 22:58:34 2007 - Atheros Extensible Wireless LAN device driver OEM - none at http://www.atheros.com/pt/index.html. This driver is way obsolete. Try to update this driver from your computer manufacturer's website. If there is no update, purcahse a new wireless adpater and uninstall this one.

gdrv.sys Thu Mar 12 23:22:29 2009 - GIGABYTE Tools, Uninstall Gigabyte's Easy Saver program, as it is known to cause BSODs.

GVTDrv64.sys Tue Sep 05 03:10:02 2006 - Gigabyte EasyTune6 driver (known issues w/Win7) GIGABYTE - Support & Downloads - Utility - Motherboard. This is an XP driver. Uninstall this software.

iaStorV.sys Wed Apr 08 12:57:17 2009 - Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver (base) http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx. Update this driver.

RTCore64.sys
- RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner (known issues w/Win7), RivaTuner. Uninstall RivaTuner.
Update or eliminate the above drivers and/or programs. Reboot and run your system. Let's see if this resolves the problem. Post back and let us know. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will go from there.

How to find drivers -
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box above. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page:
Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page:

Please upload the dumps for us. This is going to be a process of elimination. ntoskrl is the the Windoes system core; it is very unlikely to be the real cause. dxgmms is Windows Direct X and, again, very unlikely to be the real cause. Something is interfering/corrupting. Your LAN card is a suspect due to the age age of the driver.

Ok memtest results, 12 passes, 1 error, i think those are acceptable results?

Also i have uninstalled Msi afterburner, Easy Tune 6, and the Energy saver.
I will have to wait a couple more days until a new w7 compatible wlan to remove the atheros driver as well, and see how that works out.

I will also upload the new dumps when i can.

I may consider rma the ram module in question, if the issues persist, hopefully just one of the 3 modules needs to be rma'd, so at least the computer can still run.

On any note, here are the minidumps from my last 3 bsod's. I still need to update intel storage, and replace my wlan card, but i think from the results of the memtest86, at least 1 of the 3 ram modules may be responsible for most of the problems.

The error in Memtest indicates that you have a RAM problem. You can't ignore a RAM problem. Remove the stick you have identified as bad and see how your computer runs. I would remove all but one stick and test that stick with Memtest running at least 12 passes (since that it how may you ran previously). If that stick passes, test the next stick in the same slot. Repeat until you have tested each stick in that one slot. Next, take a known good stick and test each slot. This will let you know if you have a bad slot.

You forgot to upload the latest dumps. :)

Len, I am not a hardware expert. I will ask the hardware Gurus to look at this thread. I suggest you wait for them to post before you change voltages.

Raising the voltage will at best make the problems worse.
At the worst it can take out the CPU.

Raising voltage on a bad stick of RAM will speed up the process of failure and the extra voltage can ruin the CPU as this happens.

Not a good idea with bad RAM. Risky with good RAM.

Alright, i'll get a second opinion on this as well, although reading a bit more this may be a possible reason for the bsods. The ram is rated at 1.65v and my motherboard by default is undervolting it to 1.5v

Thank you, Mike.

Len, yes, the wrong voltage can cause BSOD's. Is your RAM on your motherboard's compatible list? You need to sure of what your are doing before you raise voltages. There are a lot of ramifications to doing so.

1.5v is under volting at idle. If your Bios is set for "Auto" Ram voltage settings as soon as you load it RAM voltage goes up.

As Carl suggested test each stick to find the bad one.

If you do turn up the voltage go to 1.55v as first step and try it. Then up to say 1.58v and try it out.
Don't jump up to 1.65v all at one time.

Yes, i have went to the Corsair website and the motherboard is on the compatibility list.

On a note, one stick, 30 passes with no error which suggests the 1-2 bad ram modules idea
