Windows 7 can't find wireless network.

Windows 7 ultimate x64 can't connect to wireless network with any adapters (I've tried 5 new ones) and now the old adapter can't find connections either. Every adapter after network diagnostics reports driver issues.

Open an admin command prompt and type ipconfig /all save the results and post into this thread.

I'm sorry, I misread the Ethernet info, it shows you are getting the address from DHCP, when you add wifi adapter, does it show in network and sharing?

It is set correctly. I can see the bad computer from the Linksys setup and all the other wireless computers are working fine on the network.

It doesn't show any wi-fi adapter so can't see what's going on. If it was installed then does it have a yellow triangle in device manager? If your running a 64 bit system are the drivers signed if not they won't load

The driver is from Realtek site for this adapter. There is no problems in device manager. The router is a Linksys AC1200 dual band router. The problem is with Windows. Each brand new adapter gives the same problem. No connections available and troubleshooting says there is a problem with the adapter.

When you plugin an adapter and go to the device manager, right click on the adapter, select properties, change driver, let me choose, and see if the driver shows up in the list, select it and let it be installed. Normally, when you attach an Ethernet cable, it disables some wifi adapters, so you may have to unplug the Ethernet cable to install the driver for the wifi, and enable the adapter with a right click in the network and sharing.

There was no "change drive" option in properties. I used update drive and browsed the drivers under Realtek and didn't find my adapter. I am running win 7 ulti x64.

Hi,

We do need to see ipconfig, with the adapter plugged in and ethernet UNplugged.
(im assuming the router is seeing the comp when Ethernet connected - otherwise not??)

Are you transmitting on 5.0ghz ,it might be that the wifi driver is set to 2.4,
see in driver >> properties>> advanced ....Band

I am running win 7 ult x64. And the drivers are signed. Downloaded wql driver from Realtek site.

My router is transmitting on 2.4 and 5ghz both. Other computers on the network with dual band adapters are working fine.

Your wifi driver is most likely different and not Realtec if it is plugged into a usb port, if it is part of a built in nic card with both wifi and bluetooth, we need to know the make and model of the usb adapter or the built in nic with wifi capability. If it is usb and it shows in the adapters in network and sharing, it may just need for you to right click and Enable. The adapter has to be plugged in when the ipconfig /all command is run.

I went back to the one that was in the computer. It was slow and only an n and I needed more speed from this computer that is why I spent money and time on dual band adapters (internal {pci and pci-e} and usb) and I got good brand name adapters. Buy cheap and have cheap. No sense in getting junk when it is going to be used.
