Solved windows 7 can't reconize with local network interface driver software

Hi again, as far as the if my Broadcom LAN Ethernet device is built into the motherboard or plugged into a PCI port...It looks like it built into the motherboard...either way the NIC comes with directions so it shouldn't be a problem I'm hoping.

Don't worry, as long as you have a PCI port available on your motherboard... You should be fine.

Thanks SlasherIT for June 2011 Post

Thanks SlasherIT,

The June 2011 post for updating the driver was exactly what I needed.

I have a program I use to update drivers periodically, but on occasions it does not function for a driver.

Windows 7 64
Awesome, but don't use programs that update your system drivers for you, they are not recommended and often get wrong drivers. Stick to getting 'em manually, from the manufacturer.

Hiya

I had the same problem as Caldom, this morning came into my office, no internet, no network adaptors showing in the device manager.

I googled the problem and saw on some other forums that some folks had unplugged their network card and plugged it back in again and all was well.

After trying re-installing the driver per the windows 7 troubleshooter and getting the same message as Caldom about the Microsoft SNMP service not being detected, I came across this forum and read this thread.

In view of what I'd read on other forums about removing and re-installing the network cards, I removed the cover and found the same as Caldom, the network card attached directly to the motherboard, in one block along with a couple of USB ports.

I decided to try the vain attempt of tapping the block with a screwdriver (I had the pc laid on its side because I was too lazy to disconnect all the cables and remove it from under the desk!). After tapping the block I plugged the power in and switched it on and, as if by magic, I'm on the network again
Just thought I'd share this in case anyone else reads the thread and wants to give it a try before buying a new network card.

Debbie
