 I have an old(er) HP Pavilion PC...couldn't tell you the correct specs because I had 3 towers hanging around at one point and so I combined the parts to make 1 fully functional PC. Anyways starting about 4 or 5 days ago my Windows 7(I have a dual boot config with Win 10 also) started locking up at random; I'm not opening or closing files or starting any processes...I could be reading something or watching a vid or not doing anything at all could have stepped away from my PC and it just totally locks up...can't CTRL-ALT-DEL, Esc or pretty much anything cause even the mouse is locked up so I've had to force restart every time which I know is not good to do. I have a feeling it may be a goofy Windows Update that's conflicting with some program or process I have installed...When I reboot sometimes even the boot screen won't let me select 7 or 10; it's locked on 7 which is the default OS. But when I boot to 10 it hasn't locked up and works fine so it has to be confined to Windows 7 which could make it a software issue instead of a hardware issue. tried clean boot no dice maybe a RAM issue?? HDD failing?? Any ideas?? Thanks!!

I do not use Win 10 after some bad starts. I think it is work in progress.
