Solved Windows 7 Error Message Installing Software

Computer is dell XPS 8700, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Part way through the software program installation process I get the attached error message and everything rolls back. Is there a fix for the problem?

Can you tell us what software you are trying to install ?

The program is called Serif Page Plus X5 (version 5) I have installed the program on another machine without a problem. That machine is a Dell XPS 410 running Windows 7 Home premium

Solved problem with the following suggestion on another forum

The command
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ apparently clears the file system transaction log (assuming that C: is the drive on which Windows is installed). The transaction log is used by the Windows file system to recover when a file error occurs; errors like the one quoted in this thread indicate that the log has become corrupted, so you need to clear the log to correct the error.
