Windows 7 extremely slow on startup!!!!

Hi!
Could someone please explain me what raid practicaly is, and what are the advantages of using it, and also can i use it: i have two 7200 rpm drives both 250gb,one for storage and one for os.

Well i read the part where it descripes the raid types, and wanna setup the raid0 scheme. How can i do it?
Do i just need to use sata as raid in the bios, do i need to format the drives, do i need to reinstall the os?

One more question: Is raid faster than ahci?

yes setup your SATA controller in the BIOS to RAID and I would start with both drives completely clean write zeros to both drives reinstall to the RAID array

Yes RAID would out preform AHCI

I had a Raid 0 set up here with one of the RCs and ended up dissolving it. If you go back a page to post #12 you can review the information at the link there on Raid for Seagate drives which also applies to other brands as well. You can compare the 4 different types of Raid setups to SCSI to see a large gap in data transfer rates there.

Here I considered going with a 300gb Raptor and considered the cost as well as smaller capacity.
