Hi everyone. Right now I'm trying the combo Windows Firewall + MSE. Everything is working fine except one thing. If I activate the outbound protection in the firewall the homegroups feature stops working properly. I can't see my other computer (same configuration on both).

You don't have to be a genius to see that there's some missing outbound rule and that's why the win firewall is blocking this feature.

The question is: Does anyone knows how to configure the Windows Firewall for this feature to work properly ?

Thanks in advance.

You have to manually set allow for HomeGroup Out if you sent the default behavior to block.

I´ve already set them but still no working. Is it working for you like that or you were just guessing?

It was a guess. I do not run with the default outbound action as block because it is just not worth the hassle in a home environment.

Yes, I know. Especially the Windows firewall which is a pain to configure. The problem here is the guys at Microsoft that didn't create the rules as default for using homegroup. How will I possible know how to configure something that I don't even know how it works.

Apart from that, I'm not having any problems with other programs. My main problem is that I don't know which services to create rules for in order to make homegroups work again.
