I dont understand why it takes two weeks to get it posted to technet. One my company release a product it is availible through our site in a matter of days. Why is there such a long wait?

They did two weeks for Vista, too.

Suppose there could be something with OEM's, etc., giving it a once over for a couple weeks to ensure it's really okay. Once it hits places like Technet it becomes pretty broadly officially "out there" and it gets a lot tougher to get it back and make adjustments if necessary.

I would assume there is an agreement with OEM's and microsoft for the 2 week delay because as you said it was the same thing with vista. The oem's dont give a once over. win7 is done as far as release goes there will be no last minute changes before it hits retail. Thats what the intense sign off period is.

And here is the "official" link from Microsoft Windows 7 Has Been Released to Manufacturing - Windows 7 Team Blog - The Windows Blog .

Build has been confirmed as 16385.

What I don't understand is why Gold Partners have to wait until August 16th?

Couldnt find in his post where it says 16385..only that it RTM'd

They even asked him for the build string numerous times...and he replied to people...but not with the build string. Others stated it was 16385..but not him, and he was the only "MS" one in discussion.

Guys don't flame at potato for his insistence on this issue...He has a point. I would just wait until tomorrow...we will know then

Now, now 7Dreams, you go on to sleep now.... and it will be 16391 by morning!:roflmao:

Seriously, pay no mind to the worry warts, whatever it is going to be, it will be here soon enough.

I quit worrying when I saw a firm date in a press release. The rest is "ka-sara-sara".
