I've seen a few posts similar to this one, but none of the fixes I found could solve my problem.

I built a computer recently and am held up by the windows 7 home premium 64bit installation.

My specs are as follows:

Intel Core i5 4670k
2x8gb kingston ddr3 2133mhz RAM
Corsair H100i CPU cooler
Xfx 750 W fully modular PSU
XFX double dissipation R9 290X
MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboard Z97 GUARD-PRO
Western Digital 7200rpm 1tb HDD

I am installing windows 7 home premium via a flash drive due to a lack of an optical drive.

I have gotten to various stages in the installation process, the furthest being the restart after copying windows files, expanding windows files, installing features, and installing updates. After the restart I see the option to open up my BIOS for a second, then the computer begins to load windows files. What follows is the windows 7 logo for a few moments, then the screen turns black, but is still on, and the computer is still running.

Initially assuming this was an amd driver issue, I removed the 290x which had been connected to my monitor via hdmi, and hooked up the monitor via VGA to my motherboards IO. I never got past the previous restart without the same problem.

I also often get stuck on the step: Copying Windows Files (0%)...
Whether or not the graphics card is installed.

If there is an apparent fix, it would be greatly appreciated.
