I need some information. I have a old PC with linux OS. I have to install Windows OS. From my retail partner I got Win HmPrem 7 SP1 32 bit EN 1pk DSP LCP Not to China DVD. Can I install this license on my old computer? If Yes, can I transfer this license to another computer if this old die?

Edit: On the sticker I have: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREM LCP FOR OEM SOFTWARE

I'm not familiar with that particular DVD, but in general an OEM license is tied to the first motherboard it is installed on. The disk can be used to install on a different device, but it won't activate. If your OEM DVD license has not been used before, you can install it to your Linux box. The type of Windows license that can be transferred is called 'retail', and are no longer on sale.

If a motherboard dies and is replaced with a similar board, it's possible to re-activate via phone, but this does not always work.
