Windows 7 Home Premium Taskbar Problem

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and can't pin anything. Nothing pins to the Taskbar or Start Menu. If you right click anything, there is nothing in the menu to pin or unpin anything. This includes programs currently in the Start Menu. The CBS.log is attached to this post, but I have no idea what I'm looking at. Any registry fixes found in other posts in these forums are useless because I run *Home Premium*. Any advise short of re-installation would be appreciated.

Having Home Premium does not prevent you from using registry fixes, even those from other versions of 7 64-bit. Is this a retail or OEM (preinstalled) copy of 7?

Hello Ralgar JR., and welcome to Seven Forums.

This issue is usually caused by trying to remove the shortcut arrow overlay icon by using the improper XP method of removing the IsShortcut registry entry. You should be able to fix this by downloading and merging the lnk (LNK) option in the tutorial below to restore all of it's default settings and registry entries.

Has the folder "User Pinned" (hidden) been deleted? Located at:
"C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch"

Hey guys I appreciate all your help. Problem is resolved.

The utility program "System Mechanic" removed the shortcut arrows from the items on the desktop. Once this was undone, the pinning problem was gone.
