I have 2 computers that have Windows 7 Home Premium, one is 64 Bit (Dell) and a 32 Bit (Gateway). I have configured both systems identically in setting up the networks. The issue is, I can access the Gateway (32bit) system using the Dell (64 Bit) and can access the files on the Gateway with no problems but when attempting to access the files on the Dell when using the Gateway I recieve the message, " Windows Cannot access \\Name-PC You do not have permission to access \\name-PC. Contact you network administrator to request access.
The network Homegroup coniguration is as follows....
Home or Work (current Profile)
Network Discovery is turned on
File and Printer sharing is Turned on
Public Folder Sharing is turned on
Media Streaming is turned on
File Sharing connections (enable file sharing for devices that use 40 or 50 bit), also does the same when 128bit is selected.
Password Protected sharing is turned off
Allow Windows to manage Homegroup connections
Even the Shared libraries and Printers (pictures, Documents, ect) are greyed out when trying to access them on the Dell from the Gateway. The Gateway did have the Network Log Password to access the Homegroup, which I entered. The Dell did not offer the Network Log Password to access the Dell.
What am I doing wrong??? Any information that can be provided is greatly appreciated.
