I have a copy of windows 7 which I burned. When booting from the disk I get a error saying it can't find the drivers. I have tried making a bootable usb drive from the .iso file using Microsoft's usb tool, the tool finishes says everything was successful. But when I boot from the usb drive it also comes with the same error about not finding the drivers.
Need help! Was up till 4 am (PST) :sleepy: trying to find a answer to no avail.

Thanks all in advance. :)

When using MobaLiveCD I get a error when running it
"An error occurred while copying file kqemu.sys.
Cannot copy file to destination directory.
Click Retry to retry the operation or click Cancel to"

If I click retry the error pops up again, if I click cancel a pop-up comes up and says
"Do you want to continue Setuup without coping this file?"
no still will bring up the first error message and no will bring up the error
"Installation failed"

Any clue's???

BTW, I was surfing the net and read "The file kqemu.sys is a Windows driver. A driver is a small software program that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or connected devices."

Is this correct? and is there a solution to this??

What does mobalive cd have to do with any of the possible solutions I gave you?

We have a 100% install record in countless thousands of cases here, if you'll interact with the steps given, reporting back results of each to receive more steps if necessary.

The error is almost always a bad installer.

Try burning confirmed ISO from Windows 7 ISO downloads with ImgBurn at 4x speed, or writing to stick using UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive which always works for me.

If it persists then you may need to supply the driver for the SATA controller at the Load Drivers link on Drive Selection screen.

I was using it to test the work ability of the install package, this was linked on the page you sent me to get the Ultra ISO program.

But I'll try it now without the test and re-post results

Same error as n 1st post "No device drivers were found. Make sure that installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.

Is this a new ISO you wrote to stick, from Windows 7 official ISO downloads?

If you've now tried separate ISO's with separate methods to write them, then I would move on to providing the SATA driver because it might be the rare case where it needs one to proceed.

The SATA driver is an element of the chipset, which can be found by unzipping the chipset from your mobo or PC Support Downloads webpage.

Browse into the SATA folder from the Load Drivers link to see what it wants.

SATA Driver - Load in Windows 7 or Vista Setup

One more thing, I have the image also on a DVD, so can I just boot from the DVD then use the USB to install the SATA drivers? (once I know where they are) ;)

What type of image do you have on DVD? Most system images are way too big for DVD. They are also in zipped files. If you can mount an image you can browse into the System 32>Drivers folder to usually find the SATA drivers.

It's easier to unzip your mobo or PC's chipset to find them there.

I should tell you that in 3+ years of troubleshooting thousands of failed installs we have multiple cases every day where a prompt for drivers ends up meaning a bad installer (ISO, burn, write to stick) whereas I can remember only one time it actually needed a SATA driver. They are simply all in the installer.

Well I got sick of trying all these things and just went and got me another windows 7 disk. Thanks for the help anyway

The downloads provided were the exact same installer as you bought, with tools that everyone else is able to use to burn to DVD or write to flash stick successfully. You showed no interest in doing this correctly and wouldn't interact with us to troubleshoot it.

If you bought Win7 again and already have another license then you can use the same installer to install the other license as long as it's the same version. There's no reason to abandon a license as it is good for the life of the machine it came on or the OS if retail, to be reinstalled as much as you please and in the way you please.

Let us know if you have any further problems with your Clean Install Windows 7

Sorry been busy to repost. I brought back the new install disk. Seems Acer installs a install app of windows 7 on the D: local disk.

This is what Theog was referring to and shown in a video here: Acer Support - Answers, E-Mail, Chat - How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program?

Running Recovery reisntalls all of the factory bloatware, however, which is an inferior install to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. No tech enthusiast would run such an install. At the least I would Clean Up Factory Bloatware

Not sure why you couldn't create a good installer to do the clean install like everyone else does but if you want to try again and will interact with us more closely instead of veering off into irrelevancies like Mobalife and other nonsense without even acknowledging our help, let us know.

sorry about that.:o
