Hello everyone,
I came here for help because I've just bought a brand new ASUS laptop (low-budget) model R540SA (Pentium N3700, 4GB DDR3, 240GB SSD). It came with no OS, as I wanted to, so I turned it on and started installing Windows 7 Pro x64. I thought, yeah it's a brand new laptop, it's gonna be easy and quick and I'll be able to use it in a moment... And I just can't do it. It drives me crazy right now, because hey it's a new laptop! It should work just fine!
I've read all the advices around the Internet (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/186875-uefi-unified-extensible-firmware-interface-install-windows-7-a.html among others) and nothing actually helped. I also tried the method using DISKPART. Every time I try to install Win7 it gives me BSOD when displaying Windows logo after the restart. I can't even check the error number, because it restarts automatically. I think everything in BIOS is set up fine (I made a few photos of the settings (number 2 to 5) - URL is at the end of my post). The only thing I suppose might help is a bootable pendrive. I already tried burning it using Rufus, but when I try to use GPT it says my ISO is not an EFI ISO so I have to change to MBR for BIOS and then it says I can't choose FAT32 with this ISO, so I have to choose NTFS (see photos 6 and 7) and when I try to boot I got this - see photos 0 and 1.
Moreover, my touchpad doesn't work! In Windows installer I have to use keyboard to navigate and even in normally working Windows 8.1 too (I've installed this sh**y system and I can't get over it)! I tried Fn + F9 multiple times.
Am I convicted to using Windows 10? Please say I am not... Waiting impatiently for any help.
