First off I want to say that this is a very nice forum. I have been reading through various posts for about for about a month now. I decided to register when my dad called me the other day about his computer updating. What happened was after doing an upgrade from Vista to 7 Ultimate at the very end of the upgrade where Windows does all necessary updates, it said that it was installing over 6000 updates. I thought it was kind of strange at this point but did not think much more once it completed. It only took it about 10 minutes. Well yesterday it said it was installing 6000 more updates. Everything works perfect but there is no way that his computer needed over 12000 updates in one month. Have any of you ever seen this. I searched the forum and multiple other places and came back with nothing. Thanks in advance for the help.

I dont think that there really were that many updates just something in the system making it think there are that many. I really have no idea but that many updates would seem impossible. Anyways, thanks for your reply.

6000 updates? You sure that computer's not running XP?

I kid, I kid, but that's definitely not normal. I too would be interested in seeing if anyone else has had that problem and if they have any further insight into it.

I have not looked at the list. He has the computer about 5 hours from me. I just figured I would post to see if it was something fairly common. I guess its not. I will try to see if I can remote in to his system if necessary.

I do not know where the software came from. Does that really make a difference. I just did the installation. I just got off of work for a few days and will work on that screenshot. Thanks to everyone who has been willing to help.
