Windows 7 libraries confusion

Hey hoping someone can help with an issue I'm having with libraries. 1st noticed this about a month ago, originally was my pictures folders spawning inside my Video library. I had a fatal BSOD after installing some updates back in June, start-up repair couldn't fix so I made a new partition, installed new OS, copied all my pictures and music over ... deleted the old OS - assumed that was causing the problem.

However, that along with a few too many annoying bugs made me recently format properly and re-install Windows.

All bugs gone except the library thing - only now My Pictures library is appearing inside my music library, along with the files inside! :sarc: lol, I have tried deleting it, moving it back out and also tried deleting those hidden thumbnails to see if that fixed the problem, it just keeps re-spawning there. Have just run the Files & Folders Fix-it.exe from the MS website and this hasn't resolved the issue. Anyone know of a reason for this please?

Hello Mrs Meagi, and welcome to Seven Forums.

First, let's see if restoring the default libraries may help. (If you also have a separate "Pictures" library, then this will probably not be the issue.)

If not, then check to see if "My Pictures" may have been included in your "Music" library by mistake. If so, then you could just remove the included "My Pictures" folder. Next, double check in your "Pictures" library to make sure that you have both the default C:\Users\(user-name)\Pictures and C:\Users\Public\Pictures folders included in it.
