Hi guys, I used to have a Windows Xp operating system, my maximum download speed there is 150kbps, but when I installed Windows 7 Ultimate thing changed, my download speed (torrent) is only averaging 30-40kbp/s, and the weird thing here is, it is CONSTANT at that speed, seeders/leechers is not a problem because the torrent file (an mmorpg) has no leechers and the last time I downloaded it (xp) I was at full blast (150kbp/s) I tweaked already my windows 7 but to no avail, can someone help me? Thanks.

PS. I use D-Link dir 300 router.

maybe the problem is with utorrent? have u tried looking at the settings of utorrent? visit their site and look in the forums under speed problems.

how did you measure your download speed? thru utorrent only? try measuring it thru online speedtest. then we can eliminate the possibility of utorrent being the problem.

Are you shure your ISP isn't throttling you?

I'm on DSL in Canada and every day at 5:00 my download speeds go for a total crap (25kBps) until 2:00am (suddenly 500kBps).... The ISP admits to it and there's been news coverage of the issue of over a year now.

The quick way to find out is to set your own download limit just under your plan limit (eg. 5mbps plan set uTorrent to 475KBps) and you will see it on the speed graph.

Compare that to UFTP's suggestion and you'll have a pretty clear picture...

its about 0.80-0.99mbps (which is normal btw) the provider said they don't throttle our connections, and they are sorry for what is happening to me (THEY ARE CRAP)

since your download speed online is the same as your subscribed plan, and your isp said they're not throttling, it's now safe to say that the problem is with utorrent. try to disable the bandwidth management feature of utorrent.

Nope it's not Utorrent, it's either the drivers, network adaptor or the router being used, if the problem persists then one or all of these will need to be upgraded or changed out for something more compatible.

This is a new Op system so there are plenty of reasons why this can happen, none of which has anything to do with Utorrent or Windows 7. If it really was a Win 7 or Utorrent problem then we would all be getting the same type of problem which isn't the case.
