Does anyone know if the 32bit version of windows 7 is going to have the 4GB memory limit that previous installs have? Installed onto Dell Latitude D630 with no issues. LOVE the new control panel. I think windows has finally done something real good here, as long as they write drivers like a mother. Although all the vista driver are supposed to work...

yah,,but ANY 32-bit OS will be 3.x GB. The x will be determined by factors such as the size of your video memory.

Yep.

The 32bit limitation is 4GB total of address space, regardless of the what operating system.

If you want or need 4GB or more, the only solution is to run under a
x64 enviroment.

Hi there -- I'm going to be a bit pedantic here but you've capitialized the ANY 32 bit OS so I'm going to correct you here.

So your statement needs to be modified. For Windows 32 bit OS'es (and Linuxes) you are correct but some WINDOWS SERVER 2003 32 bit versions can access more than 4GB with the /PAE switch.

You can get up to 128GB with Windows server 2003 R2 data center edition and 64 GB with Windows server 2003 enterprise edition.

Note also some versions of 32 Bit Windows 2008 Server can also address up to 64 GB

I'm running a W2003 R2 server myself with 12GB RAM - works great.

you need to check CAREFULLY before stating that ANY 32 bit OS is limited to 4GB RAM.
