Looking for some advice.
Who out there has a netbook they like that came with or can run Windows 7.
Has at least 2 gigs of RAM.
I don't care what OS it ships with as long as I can clean install Windows 7 Home Premium or Pro. to reduce on bloatware.
SSD would be great but given my budget doubtful.
$500 including cost of buying a W7 OEM disc.

thoughts?

This is a tough call because regardless what you do, you will be stuck with a dismal CPU and graphics. Even the new atom 450's are really not that great. I was tempted too but then I decided on a 15" laptop with 4GB of RAM, 500GB of disk, a decent AMD processor, an absolutely amazing screen including camera and Windows7 Home Premium - all for $500. The next week they (BestBuy) had the same for the same price with an I3 processor - would have been even better.

I got this one. I really liked the screen. My eyesight is not too good so that was important for me. The processor could have a bit more muscle, but it works quite well. My other 2 laptops have 1.6 and 1.8 GHz, so 2.0 GHz is progress. One cannot compare them to desktops where I have one Quad and one Duo at 2.9GHz.
Last week they also sold this one for $499. But that was too late for me.

Cheers

Thanks for the info.
I will give both some thought.
How much bloatware is on the one you got?
I would almost rather spend a little less on the box & get an OEM W7 disc for a clean install?

I never have a problem with so called bloatware. I just uninstall the stuff I do not like. And besides, on a 500GB disk it does not even make a dent.
