Windows 7 Not booting on laptop? strang... help please...

Ok, so i did some crap and i had to reformat my laptop hdd by putting it in spare sata and power cable things in my DESKTOP. I installed w7 on it, along with my default disk which is also running w7, all is well. but, for some reason, I can ONLY boot on my desktop? I tried it on my laptop with default BIOS settings, booted from hdd and boom. all i see is a cmd looking thing which doesnt seem to be doing anything... pleeease help

If your Fujitsu Notebook came with Windows 7, you can Clean install with the Reinstall & Drivers DVD's that came with it.

Why did you install it on your desktop and took the drive from deskopt to laptop? You can install on laptop as well!! or is the problem the fact that you don't have dvd on your laptop and no usb stick/external drive?

Anyway ... what's the sata setting in desktop BIOS (AHCI or IDE)? put same setting in laptop BIOS and try again

Thanks for the replys! These don't work for me on my laptop for some reason... I can't boot my w7 DVD and I had to take my laptops drive out to so sort it out if that helps... I can run it on one machine but not on the other what do u mean by drivers? Are the specific to the machine?

Why can't you boot form DVD? Do you see files on DVD from recovery environment? So is your dvd-drive working?
If so, Change boot order in BIOS and let it start from DVD.

Of course drivers are specific for a machine! But most of time the system just boots fine when putting disk in another machine. Just remove all not used drivers in "device manager" afterwards. Also uninstall hardware specific software which is not needed anymore.

ok, my dvd drive works fine but when i put my w7 dvd into my laptop, it goes about 85% of the way on windows is loading files... and then u can hear the hard drive/pc rest and it freezes. do u think if i install the notebooks drivers on my desktop it will work on my lappy??

Please post a full screen picture of "disk management" with all info visible. Can be done when attached to working desktop

Can you borrow a win7 installation DVD with same lanaguage and bitsize (32bits or 64bits)? what language do you have and is it 64 or 32bits?

its uk english one and this disk served me well before. there isnt a scratch on it...

Are you using the Fujitsu install DVD?
If NO, Where did you buy your Windows 7 from?

UPDATE! i burned a w7 recovery cd, and it can see my hdd, but is asking for a hardware driver... im guessing thats what u were talking about...? does anywone know wher i can get one of these? thanks guys help much appreciated.

win7 recovery cd can see your hdd? use "command prompt" for there. Does it list files?

In what stage does it ask for a hardware driver? Can you post a camshot?
