Noeldp,
Things were working out from the fix you sent me until I downloaded the windows update Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838)
Installation date: ‎2/‎26/‎2013 17:08
Installation status: Successful
Update type: Recommended
Here is the MGAD report. Bolded the null error again. I reran your fix before I ran this report to see if that would fix it. As you can see, it did not. Thanks for your help again.

I think I agree that this is possibly a new problem - and worthy of a new thread :) - because it's happened immediately after installing an update (which has been giving problems elsewhere as well), despite the fact that the error is identical to the previous one, the solution that previously worked now does not, so the basic problem is different.

Please run the following command, and post the resulting file (rootnp.log on the desktop) - since this could get quite large, please zip it before uploading

REG QUERY HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root /S >>%userprofile%\desktop\rootnp.log

Please also follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...4840-windows-update-posting-instructions.html and post the requested data

Noeldp,
Will start another new thread. I just added again to the end of this title. I'll totally rename the new thread. Will post the zip file shortly.
