I am trying to update my XP PC to Windows 7. Having purchased on Ebuyer the only installer available it looks like its only for use by System builders. I was looking for something that would run from the CD drive and offer an upgrade from XP or a clean installation of windows 7 - the former being preferable. Inserting the disk does not cause any installer program to run nor does it when the PC is booted with the disk in. Looking on the Microsoft website it refers to use of OPK tools for installing OEM windows 7 but I don't think these run on XP. The only thing I have not tried is to change the Bios to boot from CD.
Can anyone tell if change the Bios to boot from CD will work or whether this installer is not usable on an XP PC?
Thanks for any assistance.
