First, this machine is a poor candidate for windows 7. The lack of an optical drive means that you will need an external usb drive for installation. The advertised video ram is only 64mb, so you will not be able to run the aero themes. The factory installed memory is only 1gb and that is not enough IMO to run any version of Windows 7. While you may be able to get it installed and running, the experience will be less than satisfying.

For more information about installing Win 7 on the Samsung NC10 check out the linked page.

Many people have installed the RC/beta and run it just fine, many even prefer it to running XP. But don't take my word for it....

Twitter / Adam Chapman: Win 7 running peachily on ...

etc

Also, plenty of NC10 Win7 info at that link too.

Netbooks are much more capable than many think - I run Win 7 in a Virtual Machine on my NC10 ;)!
Good luck :)

Yeah windows 7 runs extremely well on an NC10.

However i would reccomend buying a 2GB memory stick, and then in the bios you can unhide the hidden settings (see below) and you can assign 128mb to the graphics, which makes things a bit smoother for Aero (which works fine!):

"Press F2 during boot up to enter the NC10 BIOS page, it is then possible to unlock further advanced options. Press (Fn + F11) release the keys then press (Fn + F11). Scroll across using the arrow key and the new tab 'Intel' will appear. These are advanced options and should be adjusted by experts. Do not experiment with this. "
