Windows 7 online download - original or Updated

I just performed a clean install of Windows 7 from a DVD I had purchased. Then I proceeded to install updates, more than 200 of them, that took an entire day.

Not too long after I had purchased the DVD copy I had downloaded a backup copy from either the Microsoft site or a sister site hosting the file. This was a few years back though.

My question is this: Would the Windows 7 (in this case 7 Home Premium) online download include service packs and critical updates to a more current point in time, or is it the same as what's on my DVD?

And regardless, does any one have a valid link to the download site at present?

Thanks all

The above link may work.

No one can tell about what you previously downloaded. Maybe 7 HP, maybe 7 HP with SP 1 included. At one time, either was available.

As far as I know there's no way to get 7 HP SP1 and all critical updates in a single download.

I can tell you that an official ISO of Win 7 HP with SP 1 integrated is 3.09 GB.

My particular edition of Win7HP includes SP1, but I suppose it would be nice to have the updates slipstreamed into this edition so that one does not have to spend an entire day downloading/installing them manually. Not sure where to DL (if even possible) the updates by themselves.

I've read there is a "consolidated update" available that includes a lot of the updates published since SP1.
I haven't used it, or know the link to get it.
Hopefully someone else can post that link and info.

Is your Windows HP is SP1?
If not, download an iso from MS https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

MS released a SP2 (they don't call it a SP2, but it is) It has ALL security an critical updates since SP1 till April 2016. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com...17/simplifying-updates-for-windows-7-and-8-1/

There is also a software (wsusoffline) that downloads all updates from MS catalog so you can make a offline update after reinstalling Windows 7. The difference from SP2 that it downloads the updates one by one and install them on sequence.
WSUS Offline Update - Update Microsoft Windows and Office without an Internet connection
