Windows 7 Pro $19 for students

One more question though. With "Available in the UK." are you referring to the $30 deal from the US (that's £18.36) or the £30 deal for students here in the UK?
I really don't know. You may be able to pay stateside and receive it in the UK. I do not see why not. Trying to avoid VAT?

Actually now that I think about it, if I get it here in the UK I should be getting the full version (due to EU laws etc). I think I'll just get it from here instead then. But like I said before, £30 for a full version of Windows 7 is very very good price.

As far as I am aware the £30 is for the UK only as the $29 is US only, For relatively low cost items the additional shipping and tax costs will ofset the cheaper initial cost of the US option -

Of course electronic delivery of software can change this ;)

Hello, Noah, Welcome to sevenforums :D

The $19 ACM membership is a worldwide membership. All you need to be is a Student who follows an IT field. At the moment if you go through several pages back you'll know what happened recently. Thanks to the high demand of the membership even from the NON COMPUTING students , ACM decided to remove Windows 7 from the list. Now There is NO Widows 7 to be downloaded at the moment.

This is a reply I got from an ACM representative after moaning that I am a student and want W7.
Dear [removed]:

Windows 7 was not an ACM offer; it has been removed from the MSDNAA program administered through Microsoft. There are multiple other software downloads available through MSDNAA that you can take advantage of with your Student Membership.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Tom Bagley

Ha ha as if I want any of the other software.

So basically this means that it doesn't matter how you got MSDN AA access you won't be able to get W7.

I have even before posting here for the first time sent an e-mail to my PA who happens to be none other than Lilian Israel. Needless to say: still awaiting reply.

Windows 7 Student Offer: $29.99

Hey Everyone, I am a college intern in the Microsoft Marketing department and wanted to clarify a few things for you. First off, ACM and IEEE will no longer be offering Window's 7 through their MSDN AA membership. There was too much abuse from non-technical students taking advantage of the offer. That being said, Microsoft has made it very easy for students to get Windows 7 today at a deeply discounted price (just $29.99).

For students who are not enrolled in a technical program on campus or without access to MSDN AA head over to http://www.win741.com/ and click on the Buy box. You can access the Professional Upgrade by clicking the link next to "Need to join your school's network domain" at the bottom of the page with the big Windows 7 Home Premium boxshot. (this is the place where you select between the 32-bit and 64-bit version)

For those of you who are enrolled in a technical program on campus, check with your campus administrator to see if your college or university is an MSDN AA subscriber (most are). With access to MSDNAA you can download Windows 7 along with a lot of other great Microsoft software for free.

If you are still debating if Windows 7 is right for you, check out this great post on the value of Windows 7 for students: http://www.crn.com/software/220001070

Let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Hi guys,

I have just registered when I stumbled upon this website after searching for feedbacks from students around the world that have received their Win7 via MSDNAA.

I want to confirm that I still have Windows Seven Pro Final (x86 & x64) available. I have just downloaded it and will try installing it over the weekend.

I did not log in from the main MSDNAA website. But instead, I logged in from an MSDNAA email sent to students in my school (I'm currently taking Master of Business in IT). It is a separate link for my university with msdn70.e-academy.com prefix and when it also has my university logo on the top left corner. The softwares range from some Office products, Visual Studio 2008, Vista Business and both Windows Seven version I mentioned above and some other Microsoft products.

The MSDNAA membership email was sent to my student email address in April 2009 and when I login to the page, I can see the news post on 14 August 2009 about the availability of Windows Seven 32 & 64 bit on ELMS.

Let's hope that other university get the same benefits.

By the way, I'm in Australia.

If I remember correctly, yes, if you are in an computers related major at your school, you can still get Windows 7.

Hello 4iedemon, welcome to Sevenforums, :D

Yes , Windows 7 for MSDNAA is avail for you if your uni/college or high school is on the MSDNAA program, so did ACM and IEEE. But due to some recent events, ACM and IEEE took all the Windows 7 Products out of their list.

If you need to know if your School or Uni is in the MSDNAA List check it from here.

4iedemon is not asking a question.

4iedemon is confirming that Windows 7 is still available at MSDNAA for qualifying members.

Hi again...

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I have a question though.

If I need to re-install my Windows Seven to the same machine (but different configuration) after I graduate, how do I obtain the product key? Because it was mentioned on the FAQ (from the page that I logged on to) that I need to contact my PA to get the key again.

But on the General MSDNAA FAQ (MSDNAA FAQs for Faculty: General Information About the Program), it is mentioned that the product can be used for an unlimited time even after the students graduate.

However, I have just installed Visio 2007 Pro from MSDNAA and I tried activating via phone and the person on the phone said that it is possible to obtain the product key by contacting them again. Not sure if the customer service understood all the EULA terms though.

Any thoughts on this?

Write down your key. Keep a copy in a PC file.

Your license agreement is for life, as long as the use is for academic purposes. It is up to you to answer Yes when asked if the use is for academic purposes.

Yup, I replied to this statement, and to students who want to know if their Uni has MSDNAA. ;)
