COA_SLP Keys are the ones that come on COA stickers, where the OS is pre-installed by major manufacturers.
There are a number of scams operating, where 'shops' are selling Branded OEM disks with 'COA stickers' which may or may not be either OEM or Retail/MSDN Keys.

Who was the supplier for the OS?

....also, disks accompanying a COA_SLP Key would not be hologrammed, normally, but branded by the manufacturer.
I suggest that you look closely at teh disk!

It's not a manufacturer OEM like DELL etc but a general OEM as used by smaller system builders. It was purchased from Amazon and fulfilled by them. I was the system builder and all the hardware was new. I'm sorry if I haven't mentioned that as this came as a bit of a shock to the system (pardon the pun) and I may not have been thinking straight.

If it was AMazon, then complain to them - it's probably worth your while also to try telephone activation in case we're missing something....

in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you

I'll give it a try but can I ask a quick question as well? If I can't get them to activate this is it possible to buy a retail copy and use it's key without having to reinstall? I know I could use their service from get genuine but chances are a retail copy would have less problems and of course be transferable to a new machine. I'm not sure what they charge direct but I know I can get one for £169.99 or less.

Yes - a genuine Retail Key can simply be swapped in using the Change Product Key link, or the 'SLUI 3' command.

I still can't get it to activate. Is there some way to buy a key over the web directly to activate my Windows 7?
