I've been using Windows 7 RC 7100 for a few weeks. Today, I was testing sleep mode and manually put the system to S3 sleep. The system tried to enter sleep state and then the whole system hang. I rebooted the PC and found out 4 of my partitions on various disks are inaccessible. Somehow, the inaccessible partitions are being renamed as "Local Disk" by Windows.
Since my PC is configured as multi-booted and I booted it up to another Vista partition and it exhibit the same problem, 4 of my partitions cannot be accessed. I even tried to boot from Windows 7 Recovery Disc and it's the same thing.
What are the chances of a system crash resulting in corrupting NTFS ACLs (Access Control List, I think) in 4 partitions across a few disks? Here is a screen capture when I clicked on 1 of those inaccessible partition.
I can manullay take on the ownership on each partition and change all permssions on all files & directories, but this is tedius and not to mention I can't restore the permissions to their original state, since I don't know what the original permissions are for every single files on the system.
Does anyone have any ideas how this can happen? Or is it even possible to fix it?
