Windows 7 Reboot Loop?

Hi Everyone, I'm new around here and I have been following the progress of Windows 7 through beta stages. I currently operate on Windows XP SP3 which runs great, however Ive very recently decided to go for WIndows 7 beta. I completely backed up all my information, booted from DVD, formatted and then started to install.

It copies/ expands all the files to 100%, then does a normal restart, It then comes up with starting windows> registering entries etc, the carries on finalising the install only to reboot itself????

After the reboot it gives me the windows recovery screen. If it tries to boot up it just goes into a reboot loop. I am sooo confused....

The thing is I would say I know my way around PC software and Hardware very well. I have tried different BIOS settings, Optimising defaults, Load-Fail Safe Defaults, Creating New Partitions etc...Please can anyone help??

My Spec is as follows:-

Intel E4400 Socket 775 2x2.00GHz 800MHz
Inno 3D SL7N73PVM - Onboard nVidia 7100 / Realtek HD Audio
2GB DDR OCZ Memory
500GB WD HDD
Pioneer Dual Layer DVD-RW

Your help is much appreciated, I just want to taste this new OS :D

Regards

Phil

Have you tried another fresh format and install?

And make sure you unplug any hardware you don't need connected during install... computers sometimes don't like being poked that much and reboot on attempting to load. :)

If such hardware is connected, disconnect and try turning it on then, see if that solves it, if not, i would suggest trying another install.

Update...

Fixed!!! I am now running Windows 7 Build 7048 x86. :D

Seems like it was my display output. Connected via normal vga cable rather than dvi and shazam! It works like a treat!

Thanks again for your suggestion angryman

No problem, glad it was just the cable, always helps to reseat everything just in case, when you troubleshoot!

Same here... with HDMI Cable

Hi there. It seems, I have the same problem. Tried installing Win7 (beta) x64 and x86 now. The Installation works 'fine' with my Media-Center PC connected with a HDMI-Cable to a Samsung TV. But then, the PC restarts once and falls into a loop... it's soooo beta - :sa:

I'll try your solution now with a 'normal' TFT and a DVI Cableand reply later.

UPDATE: No... &/"%*&ç It still doesn't work. And now there is nothing special in this PC anymore... forget Win7 (beta). If a stupid OS doesn't run after 5 hours it's not worth it.

You might want to look into grabbing the latest BIOS for your motherboard - if you were running XP on that machine, chances are it needs a BIOS update to work with Vista (and same said BIOS update will more often than not improve things with Win7 as well).
