Windows 7 recovery disc doesn’t start

Hi there, my problem is that I have windows 7 64b home premium. It came with my laptop Toshiba and I had to make a recovery disc in order to reinstall windows if I have to. So I did the recovery disc in a DVD RW drive. It shows that the recovery disc is ok, I can see the folders on it (boot and sources). The problem is that when I insert the disc in the DVD drive it doesn’t start. I tried to restart my computer, after that insert the disc, or insert the disc and then restart the computer, then go to my computer right click and autorun…and nothing. I don’t know how to start the reinstallation. What I'm doing wrong?

On the first screen you see when booting... Press F2 to enter setup....
this gets you into the bios, here you will change the boot options so that the
optical{DVD/CD} drive is first drive to boot from...

Have you try tapping the F8 key several times during boot-up to get the boot oder menu & then select cd/DVD for boot ?

Thank you guys for your quick reply, yes indeed I’ve tried with restart and press del then I press F8 and I went to a page that shows:

Repair your computer

Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt

Enable boot logging
Enable low resolution video
Last known good configuration
Directory services restored mode
Debugging mode
Disable automatic restart on systems failure
Disable driver signature enforcement

Start windows normally

And I don’t know which one pick.

Some different brands of computers aslo use the F10 or F12 to get the Boot Menu screen.

Choose the item that is your DVD drive

Yes F12 is the way way to go if your computer supports it for temporarily selecting an alternative boot device. Next boot it returns to your standard boot device ordering.

Be advised: this will over-write any data on the PC so be sure to copy-out your data before you start this.

Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Start with the PC in an OFF state.
1) Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and at the same time, hit the power button once to switch on the PC.

2) When the machine starts beeping; release the 0 key.

3) When prompted by the warning screen; select Yes to continue with the system recovery.

4) Select Recovery of Factory Default Software; click Next.

5) Select Recover to out-of-box state, click Next again.

6) Click Next to Start recovery.

4) Now just follow the prompts to finish the process.

The disk you are trying to use, is it one you created using a Toshiba program on the PC or is it an actual Windows 7 installation disk that was purchased separtely?

It is a disc Ive made from the disc recovery option on my laptop. Its not purchased separately.

If you want to get your computer back to the 'orignial' installation (losing all your personal files and folders), then check the first option.
