Windows 7 SP1 will not install, error 8024200D

I did and still got the same error when installing SP1. 8024200D

sfc /scannow is still showing no integrity problems.

windowsupdate.log still shows the 0x800F081F error message

I've run the Windows Update Troubleshooter but it says the same thing it did before.

Haven't forgotten you - things have just been a bit chaotic around here

Please run the CheckSUR tool again, and post the new CheckSUR.log file - also the new windowsupdate.log file

It looks as if your only real option now is a repair install

If it was me, I'd take the shortcut and do the repair with a disk with SP1 embedded

Two questions:

1. Just to clarify, all of my programs and data will still be there, correct?

2. Since this is a Gateway laptop, do I have to use an OEM version of the installation DVD or will the download link provided be ok?

1) that's the theory - if everything works right (and it usually does) - but ALWAYS back up your data to external media first, just in case!

2) The download (it's a retail installation disk) will work fine - so long as your Product Key on the COA sticker is legible, and you use it at the proper time.
