Solved Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, Windows not genuine

Hello all,

I have read quite a few posts on this issue so I decided to go ahead and post a thread.

On the bottom right corner of the black screen it reads "Windows 7 is not genuine". Build #7601.

I've tried the validation in internet explorer rather than downloading in Google Chrome, and it says validation failed and that my copy isn't valid. I received this computer for my birthday about 4 years ago. It's been perfect up until about 1-1 and a half years ago, I've lived with the windows is not genuine error, but I'd really like it to go away. I'd appreciate if anyone can help me, thank you in advance!

It's a counterfeit installation of Windows 7 on this system

OEM/SLP could of never happened in 2008 because Windows 7 didn't even come out until 2009.

Would I be better off just to buy another copy of Windows 7 or just upgrade to Windows 8, or even 10?

You can do as you choose. If it was my computer I would buy and install Windows 7 Home Premium/64 or Professional/64
